Practicing sustainability
Wood origin
At SUDBROCK, we don’t use sustainability as a marketing buzz-word. We live and practice sustainable furniture production every day. We use wood from certified sustainable forestries that work in accordance with the German PEFC system. All beech, maple, ash, cherry and oak tree trunks come from domestic forests, wearing the PEFC seal as proof of origin. To ensure top quality wood to be used for all SUDBROCK furniture, CEO Johannes Sudbrock personally selects the wood stems in the forst. Both wood quality wood grain need to meet the company’s high standards. The wood grain characterizes each piece of furniture.
Environmentally friendly surfaces
We use eco-friendly, hydro-UV water-based lacquer to create flawless surfaces. Solvent-free, hydro UV water-based lacquer is used for almost all coloured lacquer surfaces. A thin layer of UV-lacquer is used for all wood veneers. The clear UV-lacquer surfaces are applied up to five times, each layer being carefully polished. This process creates an excellent depth effect.
Hydro UV-lacquer means that water is extracted from the fresh lacquer by using hot air. The layer is then hardened with UV light.
