“In short, we love the table. It fits the kitchen and the room perfectly. The solid oak base comes very close to our old exposed beams. I don’t think you can get much closer to old and new wood than that. The design is great.
The table top appears to float (I say this even though we had to lift the table top almost vertically upwards between the 1st and 2nd floors!) and the substructure only slowly becomes visible when viewed from a very low perspective. The visual effects of the miter joints on the ends are also wonderful. The workmanship is flawless.
Perfect surfaces, gap dimensions and even, minimal protrusion of the ceramic top. When we sit at the table for a long time, I always catching myself running my fingers over the surfaces.
I am also convinced that we have purchased a patina-capable product and am excited to see what the table will look like in 5 years’ time, ennobled by daily use.”
